Métis Medicine Ways and Metaphysical Lightwork

Isolation, alienation, trauma, loss of connection to ourselves and to the greater whole is a common individual and collective theme in our society. More and more people are seeking to discover and recreate themselves beyond traditional roles and conventions in their lives. They seek interconnectedness to “all their relations” -- family, friends, peers, institutions and their connection to the nature world -- the Four Worlds of Grandmother Earth.

Debra Eagle Woman (Eagle Woman Who Dances in the Light) has been trained in sound educational and psychological techniques that foster cooperation, self-esteem and emotional growth and is also trained in ancient healing ways that allow the “spirit” of the individual to be accessed and for true healing to take place.

Trained as a Métis Medicine Way Teacher, counselor and Metaphysical Lightworker, Eagle Woman addresses all aspects of self: emotional, physical, mental, spiritual and life force energy. Using the ancient Medicine Wheel as a road map, she uses all aspects of self and our relationship to nature to foster a sense of connection, transformation and well being.

Metaphysical Lightwork

Metaphysical Lightwork deals with energy. Energy is the source of all life and energy gets manifested in behaviors that serve us or don't serve us. Educational and psychological arenas are very good at diagnosing and labeling behaviors that are exhibited within the personality and addressed as a "disability or disorder". Often the prescribed interventions don't attack the root or cause of the distress but only work with the symptoms. Eagle Woman has been extensively trained in working with energy both in the physical and in the metaphysical world. By looking at the energetic blocks that occur in the body and examining both conscious and subconscious beliefs that are not working to serve the client's  "highest potential or self," she is able to facilitate the restructuring of  thoughts and energetic patterns which then produces different behaviors. Old beliefs and limitation are removed while awakening to new strengths and gifts. New possibilities and new ways of being can replace the old patterns bringing a sense of awareness, confidence and hope.

Healing Ceremonies

For thousand of years, indigenous people’s of the world have used nature as their greatest teacher. Nature---the four worlds of Grandmother Earth, can teach us gently or with great force about our strengths, limitations and our own naturalness and beauty. Nature does not judge. It reflects back to us the cycles and patterns of nature and the sacred laws of the universe.

In Métis Medicine Ways, many ancient ceremonies are incorporated into healing. Drumming and chanting to help us move our emotions, the sweat lodge for purification, death and rebirth and vision quests for the purpose of finding clarity and direction for our own life’s purpose and connection to Great Spirit.

Some specific techniques used in Métis Medicine Ways are:

■ Reading and clearing energetic blockages

■ Bringing to awareness and clearing old beliefs and contracts that no longer serve your growth and well-being, looking at self-sabotaging behaviors

■ Talking Stick Protocol- using the ancient tool of the "Talking Stick" to facilitate open, honest, heart to heart communication

■ Managing Energy: hyperactivity, anger, anxiety, depression; releasing emotions in a productive and safe way

■ Ceremonies that connect you to nature -- (The Four Worlds of Grandmother Earth): Sweat Lodge, Visions Quests, Drumming and Chanting, and personal ceremony

This work can be done with individuals, families or groups. Sessions can occur in person or by phone, along with workshops on Métis Medicine Way Teachings.
